For some unknown reason, my brother Jason decided to grown catnip in his garden this year. I was over there just the other day when he was winterizing it and I asked what one of the plants was. He cut off a couple stems for me and said it was catnip.
Our cats haven’t been too attracted to catnip when it comes in scratching posts and things like that, but I was interested to see how they felt about it straight from the plant.
I took it home and gave one to each Tink and Nema. They both went crazy over it. They looked like addicts attacking it. Here are a few pictures from their fun day. I especially like the one where Nema is trying to take it away from Tink. Tink definitely was more obsessed with it than Nema.
So next year in the garden I will definitely try and grow some catnip. I just hope it doesn’t attract too many of the neighborhood cats!
