I bought these two leaves for about $10 several months ago at a model home sale. I thought they were pretty cool and unique. After I brought them home I had a little bit of buyers remorse thinking that they were neutral just like everything else in my house and I needed some more color. When talking to my mom about it she gave me the idea of building a box and painting it a color to put them on.
I already had the wood left over from another project and had some paint left from the stripe we painted in the master bedroom, so it wouldn’t cost me anything extra. With the help of my dad and his table saw we were able to construct a 30″ x 30″ x 1.5″ box. Two weekends ago when the sun was out I was finally able to paint it and today Andy and I hung it!
I am still getting use to it and the dimensions, it probably comes out about 3-4 inches from the wall. But I think I will get used to it.
