We got into Chico a little before 9pm on New Years Eve.There were six of us (Anya, Erin, Nagisa, Dustin, Bridget, and me). We headed out to downtown Chico, and it was relatively low key. Everyone from the college must have been home, but there was still a good crowd. We bar hopped for a bit, saw a mechanical bull, took some Irish car bombs, and continued to wait for the count down. And finally, it was 2010… twenty-ten or two thousand ten… whatever. It does sound a bit strange to be living in 2010, but I’m sure I can get used to it.
We started the year right after the bars closed and looked for a Taco Bell , but had to compromise with a bean burrito out of the vending machine. In case you don’t know, 2010 is the year of the biscuits and gravy, and so that was breakfast. And the rest of New Years Day (aka National Recovery Day) was filled with hanging out by the pool, watching Something about the Morgan’s, and playing some pool.
We finished our trip to Chico with lunch at Sierra Nevada brewery the next day. Sierra Nevada needs have their IPA more available in Reno.
Either way, cheers to a successful 2010 and whatever adventures it may bring.
