Here it is at the end of 2009. And while remembering all the cool stuff I want to do next year, I have to take a step back and look at the top five things that happened this year. Here’s my list:

1. Marathon or Bust
I had no idea by the end of 2009 I would have finished a full marathon. It was a huge accomplishment for us and our entire running group. It took many hours and thousands of calories to do, but I’m glad we did it. And apparently so is Bridget since she’s already signed us up for two half marathons next year.
2. Greece and Pitas
For our honeymoon, Bridget and I traveled to Greece. This was a two week vacation self-touring the Athens, the Peloponnese, and Islands. From myths of Theseus and the Minotaur to the island donkeys, it was good to zone out, eat a delicious crepe, and end with a Greek coffee.
3. Going Going Back Back to Cali Cali
After looking back this year, we had a lot of adventures in California. Here’s a short list of ’em.
– Santa Cruz (1/2 Marathon with the Gaedtkes)
– San Francisco (Jason’s Alcatraz Triathlon & a Giants
game (Randy Johnson pitched), Celebrating July 4th
with Erron and Alexya (Lincecum pitched)
– San Diego (Jeff’s Bachelor Party with a Padres game)
– Sacramento (Nate’s Bachelor Party, CIM Marathon)
– Napa (1 year anniversary, Weaver Christmas)
– Chico (New Years Celebration)

In September, my company merged with a large Boston-based interactive company. We are now their West coast representative. OTO has offices in Boston, Baltimore, Salt Lake, Reno, and England. So far it’s been the same, but recently I’ve seen that the transition will affect me more in 2010.  There’s a lot to learn. They know how to market, and we know how to build solutions, so their could be some cool possibilities.
5. 28 years later, but I can swim
Yep. It’s taken me a few years to get out there, but I graduated at the top of my class… if Bridget didn’t count. I still need a whole lot of practice, but at least now if I drown, I can do the breast stroke while going down.
